• Story

Once upon a time Pandu Dewanata, Kuru Kingdom's heir, sent three goddess to his brother named Dretarastra. One of them would be his wife. Dretarastra could not see them because he was blind. Then he decided to marry Gandari, the heaviest one, after he lifted them up one by one. He thought Gandari would have a lot of children... Gandari was offended to be chosen by a blind man. She swore that her children would be the enemy of Pandu’s children.

After many years of married, Gandari was very envious to Pandu’s wife who already had sons called Pandawa. So, she went to Byasa, a powerful ascetic. He granted Gandari’s desire to have children. After two years of long pregnancy, Gandari gave birth a lifeless flesh. Byasa cut the flesh into a hundred pieces and put them in the jars, then buried into ground. One year later, the jars was opened. Amazingly, one hundred babies came out from the jar. They were known as Kurawa...
  • Kurawa as a Brand

Kurawa is inherited from wayang story Barathayuda found inside Mahabharata Ancient Book. The story is about Five Pandawa versus Kurawa and the Gank. Representing the force of evil, bad, and cruel, Kurawa still has unsolved mysteries and good sides that are not yet published.

Inspired by the story, we are proud to present "Kurawa" as a clothing line. Yes, Kurawa keeps breaking the rules... but at this time, Kurawa would love to break the rules of Batik Indonesia. Most people consider Batik is old fashioned and wear them only as a mandatory, but Kurawa is gonna bring you to the boho pop style when fun meets Batik and other traditional patterns as an Indonesia heritage.

Kurawa with its own style will make you notice how can you not fall in love after you get to know “Kurawa” more and more...
